Compassion Over Killing’s Boca Campaign

I’m sure everyone has heard about COK urging Boca to cease the use of eggs in it’s products. You can read up on the campaign here.  I was checking the status of this today and COK was so successful that Boca has promised an update as to how they are going to work with the request to stop the use of eggs in their products by 3/20/09.  In lieu of this, Compassion Over Killing has put the campaign on hold to allow Boca to update them as to the plan.

Have you ever seen chickens in the battery cages?  It is honestly enough to make you cry.  The chickens don’t even have enough room to open their wings.  They can’t walk.  The battery cages are made from thin wire that the chickens’ feet can fall through causing their legs to get stuck.  You can actually see pictures on the Boca-egg-facts site.

It would be HUGE if a company as large and prominent as Boca went totally vegan. Can you imagine?! In Danicaland (the lovely place I like to live in in my head) this would cause a domino effect.  Morningstar would go totally vegan.  That would in turn cause Amy’s to go vegan, etc.  Cows would rejoice!  Chickens would dance! Pigs would roll in mud and be supah happy.

:happy sigh:

So, stay tuned dear reader for further updates on the campaign!  Wait, my readers are all in Danicaland. Dangit!
