Hydrating Green Smoothie
I love, love, love green smoothies! They are an excellent way to pack a ton of nutrition into a compact form. There is no way I would sit down and eat what I put into a smoothie. It just would not be the same experience.
This smoothie is light, cool and refreshing! I especially like to have this one in the morning to get my body buzzing for the day. This is an especially good mix for the green smoothie newbie since it has a more mild taste to it.
I really hesitate to call this a recipe. Smoothie recipes are more like smoothie ideas. They’re just to plant the taste idea in your head and you run with it to customize it for you. Good stuff.
Hydrating Green Smoothie
Huge handful of baby spinach or kale (or the green of your choice)
1 red pear (I did peel it because I don’t have a super blender.)
1 english cucumber (didn’t peel this one)
at least 6 stalks of celery, leaves and all
1 inch of ginger root, peeled
enough clean water to get it going (young coconut water rocks in smoothies if you have it!)
Put it all in the blender and go to town! I don’t like to use a straw with my smoothies, but to rather gulp them from a huge glass. YUM!
I would love to hear your favorite green smoothie (or juice!) recipes!! I feel a (maybe modified) juice feast coming on. ![]()
